Solution:
1. We have to multiply ship's speed and the steaming time to get the distance. This is the formula:
Distance = speed × time
= 10 nm/hr × 18 hrs
2. Eliminate the hours
Distance = 10 nm/ hr × 18 hrs
= 10 nm × 18
= 180 nm is the distance run
